I help edit Flavorwire, geek out on teen TV for the L.A. Times ShowTracker blog, and write about music for a few places. I'm also in the midst of co-editing, with Niina Pollari, a zine and book project called "It's Complicated: Feminist Writers on the Misogynist Art We Love," which you can also follow on Tumblr.
The It’s Complicated Kickstarter campaign ended yesterday, and our grand total is $4,088! We’re thrilled to have raised over 200% of our goal — and we’re equally excited that over 150 of you supported us. We know that not everyone has a ton of extra money these days, and your contributions mean so much.
We’ll be in touch about rewards soon, but in the mean time, please accept this video for Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue’s duet, “Where the Wild Roses Grow,” as a token of our gratitude. If it leaves you with some complicated feelings, don’t worry — Gina Abelkop will break down Nick Cave for us in It’s Complicated #1.
One last heartfelt thank you, y’all! Off to ponder why, after so many years, Nick Cave can still do this to me, you know?
