emilybooks:

Mercury by Ariana Reines is our August pick!
It has a beautiful mercury-colored cover in its physical incarnation. To compensate for lack of same when reading the ebook, simply paint your nails quicksilver.

This is great news! I am reading this slowly — not because it’s difficult, but because I’m savoring it — on loan from Niina. She is a poet and I had been lamenting that I really wanted to get back into reading poetry but didn’t know where to start. Smart young women who read lots of fiction and non-fiction but not really any poetry: this really is the place to start. Accessible, perceptive, relevant to you.
